Cops to wrap up MACC chief's case this week

The police will soon conclude a probe into the extramarital affair allegedly involving the MACC chief Dzulkifli Ahmad, said inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun today.
"We are going to wrap up the investigation papers this week, we hope we can do it," he told a press conference after officiating an anti-snatch theft and pickpocketing campaign in Bukit Bintang.
When asked if the cops have called Dzulkifli for a statement, Fuzi (photo) replied, "This includes all aspects, so I will not comment further."

He also declined to confirm if the police have identified the man in the purported video taken in Bali with a woman.
The police are probing Dzulkifli under Section 498 of Penal Code, for enticing a married woman. The police have submitted its investigation paper to the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) twice, but rejected by the AGC.
When asked about the reasons that high profile cases were repeatedly rejected by the public prosecutor, he said, "That's too much, we have been following whatever instructions are given to us."
The police submitted their investigation paper to the AGC - first on Oct 17 and again on Oct 30, but were instructed to conduct further investigation.
Similarly, the AGC also rejected the police's investigation paper on the 1MDB scandal. The case was being probed under Section 409 and Section 420 of the Penal Code for criminal breach of trust and fraudulence.
When asked if the police will allow the gathering called by Selangor Umno to support the state's ruler, thus Sunday, Fuzi said the police have to assess of the rally.
"I don't have the details yet, so I cannot say 'yes' or 'no'. We have to be fair to everybody.
"If we think that something is not right, we will withdraw it (not allow), if we think (the rally is) justified, we will consider, we have to see the merit of the issue," he said.
Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar said the rally will be to respond to former law minister Zaid Ibrahim's remark regarding the ruler's warning that Dr Mahathir Mohamad's anger could raze the nation.
