Delegate calls Umno to protect royal institution from 'DAP Chinese'

UMNO AGM | Besut Umno Youth Chief Azizul Jasmi Mohamad called for Umno members to rally together to defend the royal institution, which he claimed has come under siege by the "DAP Chinese".

In his address at the debate session of the Umno general assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) last night, Azizul claimed that DAP's vision for Malaysia for Malaysians was to render the royal institution obsolete.

"Thus, on this stage, I would like to call upon my friends to band together to protect the royal institution, which acts as an umbrella to our religion.

"Let's all stand up and state our vows," he said, while chanting "Daulat Tuanku" three times.

Azizul also presented a second education-related motion, where he asked the government to not recognise the United Examination Certificate (UEC), as the groups (Chinese) pushing for its implementation did not even vote for the government in the least general election.

"These groups are insisting that the UEC is similar to other public examinations. The UEC is recognised by private Chinese schools and is championed by the Dong Zong, and it does not even follow local education syllabus.

"Enough with the government, entertaining such group, they did not even vote for the government in the 13th general election," he said.

The Umno general assembly will last until Sunday.- Mkini
