EMPTY TABLES AT GALA DINNER CONFIRM NAJIB IS A ‘LOST CAUSE’ IN UMNO: DESPITE BN MEDIA HYPE, PIC SHOWS ONLY TABLES NEARBY TO NAJIB WERE FILLED

KUALA LUMPUR – Thousands of people joined Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak for dinner at the 71st Umno General Assembly tonight.

Najib, who is also Umno president, attended the dinner with his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, which was held at Dewan Tun Razak at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here.

They were joined at the table by Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and wife Datin Seri Hamidah Khamis.

At about 7.30pm Umno supreme council members, other assembly delegates and ordinary party members could be seen making their way into the dinner hall.

Other guests at the dinner include embassy officials in Malaysia and delegates from foreign political parties, who attended the opening of the assembly earlier today.

The guests were entertained by cultural performances and music by the City Hall Orchestra.

Earlier today at PWTC, Najib delivered his presidential address to open the assembly, which will run until Saturday.
