Five recommendations for the Malaysian Indian Blueprint

The Malaysian Indian Entrepreneur Cooperative (MIEC), which was formed in 2010 to uplift the socio-economic status of the Malaysian Indian community, would like to recommend five action plans to be incorporated into the Malaysian Indian Blueprint (MIB).
The five recommendations that should be considered are:
1. An entity framework in the like of a cooperative to enable Indian entrepreneurs easier access to funding without compromising on quality and credibility of the applicant.
2. Moving forward, SME Indian entrepreneurs must break into government procurement which runs into billions. Many Indian SME entrepreneurs are capable and qualified but need the support of community leaders like (MIC President) Dr S Subramaniam to make it work.
3. A formation of a consortium led by industry corporate captains together with our capable and qualified Indian SMEs to participate in government contracts and tenders. With a concerted effort, a more meaningful representation of the economic cake can be achieved.
4. A Teraju like set up be formed to nurture Indian SMEs to be prepared and made bankable for listing in LEAP, ACE & Bursa Malaysia Listing.
5. The appointment of qualified Indians into GLC will assist in the process of paving the way for Indian SMEs to make it into government-linked companies. A listing of GLCs where credible Indian professionals can be placed must be presented and appointments made.
