JAMAL MAKES A ‘LAME-DUCK FOOL’ OF THE IGP: RIGHT OUTSIDE POLICE STATION, NAJIB’S ‘STUNTMAN’ VOWS AGAIN TO GO TO ZAID’S HOUSE & CRACK HIS HEAD WITH SLEDGEHAMMER

CONTROVERSIAL Selangor Umno leader Jamal Md Yunos presented himself at the Dang Wangi police station at 12.20am this morning to give his statement.
The Sungai Besar division chief said he was summoned to the police station yesterday after he had threatened to bash former minister Zaid Ibrahim’s head with a sledgehammer.
“I decided to come tonight because I did not want my neighbours to be disturbed at night, in case the police decided to come for me at home,” Jamal told reporters at the police station.
Jamal had lodged a report against Zaid last Tuesday for allegedly criticising the sultan of Selangor on Twitter.
According to Jamal, the police had asked him about the report he lodged last Tuesday and not for the threats he made against Zaid.
“I hope that action will now be taken against Zaid after the police have taken my statement. If not, I will have to go to his house and carry out what I said this afternoon,” said Jamal after coming out of the police station at 12.55am.
Yesterday, Inspector General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun told The Malaysian Insight that the police had received reports following Jamal’s threats against Zaid.
Fuzi said police would consider calling in Jamal for questioning. He also said police did not plan to offer protection for Zaid for the time being.
Zaid said he feared for the safety of himself and his family following Jamal’s threats against him.
Earlier, The Malaysian Insight had reported:
COPS TO INVESTIGATE JAMAL OVER THREATS AGAINST ZAID, SAYS IGP
POLICE are investigating Red Shirts leader Jamal Yunos’ recent threat to bash in Zaid Ibrahim’s head with a hammer, said the Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun.
Fuzi told The Malaysian Insight over the phone that police have received reports over Jamal’s antics at the Umno general assembly yesterday and today, where he burned two effigies of Zaid and then threatened to bash the former law minister’s head in with a hammer over comments regarding the Selangor sultan.

Fuzi said police will decide on whether or not to call Jamal, who is Umno Sg Besar chief, in for questioning after concluding their initial probe into the incident, adding that no police protection has been assigned to Zaid at the moment.
“We cannot take care (within) 24 hours… let the police investigate Jamal first before deciding whether or not he (Zaid) needs police protection,” he said.
Following Jamal’s antics today, Zaid had expressed fears for the safety of his family and himself over his twitter account and said he “hoped the inspector-general of police will take care of our safety”.
Zaid had incurred the wrath of the Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah after he told the sultan to be careful with his words when criticising Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Zaid had tweeted that “no one is immune when the country burns”, in relation to an interview the sultan gave to The Star, in which he described Dr Mahathir as an angry leader whose “anger would burn the whole country”.
