After torching images of Zaid Ibrahim, Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos has now smashed a cardboard cutout of the former minister with a sledgehammer outside the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
Jamal also warned that he would “hunt down” Zaid if the authorities failed to act against the latter.
“The Malaysian police is the best in Asia. If I utter the word 'haram jadah' (bastard), I would certainly have to spend a night in the lock-up.
“We have read about the Sultan of Selangor (Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah) being displeased (with Zaid) but where are the police? Why has no action been taken?
“Why the delay in acting against this 'animal'. We cannot stand it, we the people of Selangor have lost our patience. If there is no action (from the authorities), tomorrow this hammer will 'visit' his (Zaid's) head,” he told reporters.
Yesterday, inspector-general of police Mohd Fuzi Harun said Zaid is being investigated under the Sedition Act 1948.
This is over his remarks in response to the sultan warning that former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad's anger could raze the nation.
The sultan also took Zaid to task and told the latter to return to his home state of Kelantan if he disagreed with him.
Jamal added that he was willing to die to defend the Selangor ruler.
"This is a stern warning from us. We, the rakyat of Selangor, never ever want our Sultan to be insulted.
"I am willing to die for the Sultan. I don't care about being locked up, imprisoned for defending our Sultan. I just don't want the ruler to be 'hurt' by 'traitors' like him (Zaid)," said Jamal, when asked whether he was concerned about legal repercussions for issuing such a warning to Zaid.
He claimed that if people like him did not stand up for the Sultan, others will start insulting the ruler.
Jamal further questioned Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali's silence in the matter.
"Where is Azmin Ali? He should have voiced out by now."
According to Jamal, there is no forgiveness for Zaid.
"He has hurt us Selangorians, action should be taken and punishment is given, not forgiveness," he said, while repeatedly striking the head of Zaid's cutout, with the sledgehammer.
