Johor MB denies graft allegation, calls it slander

JOHOR DUN | Johor Menteri Besar Mohamed Khaled Nordin today denied allegations that he was involved in corruption linked to housing development projects in the state.
"I strongly deny those baseless allegations. It is slander. It is untrue and has nothing to do with me.
"My administration does not accept bribes, will never accept bribes and will oppose any forms of bribery towards myself and my administration," said Khaled.
Khaled said this as part of his winding-up speech for Budget 2018 at the legislative assembly.
Last week, Wong Shu Qi (DAP-Senai) had questioned if Khaled had received a sum of RM12 million, based on a leaked MACC witness statement that surfaced online.
The witness statement claimed that Khaled, among others, had received millions from property developers to remove bumiputera restrictions for certain housing projects.

The witness statement was attributed to Amir Shariffuddin Abd Raub, who was charged alongside former Johor exco member Abdul Latif Bandi (centre in photo) earlier this year for money laundering and graft.
The MACC later confirmed that the document was indeed leaked, while Amir Shariffuddin lodged a police report claiming that the document was doctored.
