PUTRAJAYA: TV host Azwan Ali has arrived at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here to submit documents over claims of corruption allegedly involving his brother, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.
Azwan, clad in black and in oversized sunglasses, arrived at about 10am on Wednesday.
“I have been summoned by the MACC and I have lots of documents to submit.
“You just wait and see,” he told the media briefly before heading inside the office.
Asked how many documents will be submitted, Azwan said “the thickness of the documents shows the seriousness in exposing the issue.”
Azwan previously said he would assist Barisan Nasional in “taking down” Azmin, the Mentri Besar, in the coalition’s efforts to take over Selangor in the 14th general election.
He had said he had “a million ideas to destroy” Azmin in Selangor and vowed to expose his brother’s secrets “one by one”.
MEANWHILE, according to Malaysiakini:
Azmin’s brother hands MACC evidence alleging ‘extreme corruption’
TV personality Azwan Ali has provided the MACC with evidence alleging “extreme corruption and affluence” by a leader whom he refused to name.
However, a check on his Instagram account suggests that the documents could implicate his brother, Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali, along with the latter’s “cronies”.
“I have brought along a lot of proof. But I will bocorkan (reveal) a little bit.
“I have arrived (at MACC) for a case about extreme corruption and affluence.
“Who (is the leader)? No comment,” said Azwan after meeting with MACC assistant commissioner (operations) Azam Baki.
Azwan previously pledged to work with Umno to bring about his brother’s downfall and later threatened to expose secrets about Azmin.
