ROBERT KUOK’S YOUNGEST DAUGHTER ROBBED: 14 HERMES, YSL HANDBAGS WORTH NEARLY RM1MIL STOLEN FROM HER SHOP

The youngest daughter of Malaysia’s richest man, Robert Kuok, who owns a luxury goods company in Hong Kong’s busy financial has just reported a robbery of 15 designer handbags from her store, Guiltless.
14 Hermes and one YSL, worth a total of about HK$1.44 million (RM746,469) were stolen when the store display window was smashed on Monday morning (4 Dec), South China Morning Post reports.
“The display window was broken, and the shop had been ransacked. A one-metre sledgehammer was found inside the store.
“Three masked men used a hammer to break the display window of the store at about 6.30am before entering,” a police spokesperson told SCMP that the daring heist took less than a minute.
Local media also reported that three individuals arrived in a white seven-seater driven by a fourth man, while two of those who committed the robbery wore hats. The three masked individuals jumped out and ran into the shopping centre, quickly accomplishing their job.

Police were alerted at 7.49am soon after a security guard discovered the smashed store window at the first-floor store on Queen’s Road Central.
According to its website, the pop-up store is expected to be open until 26 December.
The shop was only opened a month earlier on October 24 by Yen Kuok, founder of luxury consignment website Guiltless, whose father Robert has topped the rankings as Malaysia’s richest person for many years.

The store opening was widely covered by media outlets as Asian celebrities donated their own luxury possessions, including a Valentino dress from Shu Qi, Cherie Chung’s Roger Vivier evening bag and Michelle Yeoh’s signature trainers, social media news blog hashtaglegend.com reports. 70 per cent of all the celebrity sale proceeds were subsequently donated to Hong Kong-based non-profit Crossroads foundation.
According to hashtaglegend.com, Guiltless’s innovative strategy to market second-hand items had put it ahead of the pack.
“We want to establish a reputation of having second-hand goods and first-class service. We can say we’re the only one of our kind amongst second-hand retailers who first of all, offer free global consignment pick ups,” Yen Kuok said.
