Umno delegate wants Jamal to continue 'crazy crusade' to wrest Selangor

UMNO AGM | Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Md Yunos is widely known for his outrageous stunts; ranging from being clad only in a towel as well as bringing coffins to the Selangor state secretariat building.
As far as Permatang Pauh Umno division chief Mohd Zaidi Said is concerned, Jamal is free to continue such stunts.
"I want Jamal to continue his crazy crusade to ensure that Selangor succeeds (Umno wins Selangor)," Zaidi said when debating the Umno president's speech at the party's general assembly today.
Zaidi's call was met with thunderous applause from Umno delegates present, as well as an approving nod from Umno president Najib Abdul Razak as the camera panned to him.
However, in his speech earlier, Zaidi said that although he may misspeak at times, this was not done in his capacity as an Umno division chief.
"Because this was shown by my friend Jamal. He can do anything - bring coffins to the state secretariat building and going there clad in a towel with a toothbrush tucked behind his ear.

"Can you imagine if all of us were to do that - wear a white towel and a toothbrush tucked behind our ears to (Penang Chief Minister) Lim Guan Eng's office? I think Guan Eng will run away," he said.
"But we don't do that; let Jamal do it, it's okay."
As such, whatever was done by Jamal, he stressed, was not reflective of all Umno division leaders.
"If everything Jamal does is considered reflective of division leaders, that will limit our freedom to take action against extremists in the outside world," Zaidi said.
He also lamented on what he believes to be double standards when it comes to such matters.
"When it concerns the opposition, they will say it is an individual action and does not represent the party.
"But when Umno leaders accidentally say something wrong, they will say 'this is a party action and not an individual's'. This is unfair," Zaidi groused.- Mkini
