My comments : Congratulations to Azimah for being so bold. Is Azimah the “wanita Melayu terakhir” who can see what is happening to our education system?
My question is under what law or power can the school hold back students AFTER school hours? Someone should sue the school (and the dumb ass education officer) for keeping students illegally after hours.
What about the bas sekolah, parents who are waiting to pick up their children and other transport arrangements that the students have to take? Everyone will be delayed.
The Chinese and Indian kids can go home on time with their parents.
They can have lunch at home and start their other work on time.
The Malay kids will be more hungry. If they are late getting home for lunch, they will become more malnourished. Or they must spend more pocket money to buy outside food. They will become poorer.
The Kuantan education officer is just showing off his power. An abuse of power. There is no evidence or reasoning behind this abuse of power.

Habis macam mana pula ketahanan diri budak China dan India boleh lebih kukuh ? Depa tak “sembahyang” pun?
Kepala Bapak bagi duit tabung kita, pas-pis-pus telan dengan tabung sekali. Depa sembahyang 10 kali sehari.
Ustaz tahfiz yang mengajar baca Quran kena penjara 20 tahun atas kesalahan rogol pelajar lelaki. Takkan dia tak tahu sembahyang.

School hours must be made enjoyable for the school kids. Sekolah kebangsaan are becoming religious prisons where children are being brainwashed with religious dogma.
The sekolah kebangsaan have become not only religious prisons but religious and racial ghettos where largely Malay kids are being exposed to the wrong things.
School time must be devoted to learning geography, art, mathematics, chemistry, biology, accounting, philosophy and other useful subjects. Children must be exposed to sports and games, libraries, reading books, plays, dramas, song and music. All children, regardless of race, religion, language etc. This will also build a better and stronger society. A united society.
As Azimah says children can get religious training elsewhere – on their own time, at their parents own expense.
If you want to send your child to religious tahfiz, please go ahead. But on your own time and use your own money.
The sekolah kebangsaan runs on taxpayers money. Everyone’s money. Chinese money, Indian money, Malay money, Iban money, Dusun money etc. There are only 2.1 million taxpayers in this country of 30 million people.
The sekolah kebangsaan is really manufacturing slow learning (Babuji’s comment), unintelligent (Tunku Mahkota’s point) cannon fodder to be manipulated and controlled by the kleptocrats.
The school system is a disaster that is already upon us. Too late.
