PETALING JAYA: The manager of Celia Chang is preventing the Taiwanese actress from accessing her Facebook page for fear comments there may “unsettle” her, reported Taiwanese news portal Apple Daily.

On Friday (July 6), the portal reported that Mohd Nazifuddin Najib, the son of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, was seeing dining with Chang for more than three hours at a restaurant in Taipei’s Xinyi district on Thursday (July 5).

This reportedly happened soon after Najib was released on bail following his arrest on July 3 over the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.

The portal also reported that Chang claimed to have taken a taxi home after having drinks with Mohd Nazifuddin at a bar in the hotel where he was staying and did not spend the night with him.

She did not deny that they held hands but said that it was just for a minute.

Chang also strongly denied any there were any romantic notions when she and Mohd Nazifuddin kissed, saying it was “just a way of saying goodbye”.

The portal further said that acting was a side job for Chang, who prefers to dabble in investments.

She has business interests in nail salons and pet hotels, with a monthly income of over TWD100,000 (RM13,270).

It also said that Mohd Nazifuddin was introduced to Chang through a mutual Singaporean friend.

According to her friend, as quoted by Apple Daily, Mohd Nazifuddin started wooing her a year ago, although she was already in a relationship.

It was only when Chang broke up with her boyfriend that Mohd Nazifuddin began pursuing her in earnest.

However, the status of their relationship is unknown and it cannot be confirmed if they are officially a couple.

A check on Chang’s Facebook page showed that her last post was made on Saturday (June 30).

After news of Chang and Nazifuddin being spotted together broke on Friday, many comments have been left on her Facebook page, with some criticising the actress for going out with the son of man facing corruption charges, with others speaking in her defence.
