‘I DIDN’T SLEEP WITH NAJIB’S SON, OR RECEIVE ANY MONEY OR GIFTS FROM HIM. IN FACT, I EVEN PAID FOR DINNER & DRINKS,’ CLAIMS TAIWANESE ACTRESS – BUT DID SHE ALSO PAY FOR NAZIF’S AIR TICKET?: CLUMSY COVER-UP OR NOT, NAZIF HAS NO ONE TO BLAME BUT HIMSELF AS DATING SCANDAL ESCALATES INTO SEX SCANDAL

PETALING JAYA: Taiwanese actress Celia Chang says she did not receive any money or gifts from Datuk Mohd Nazifuddin Najib during their outing in Taiwan on Thursday (July 5).
In a post on her Facebook page Saturday, a spokesman from Chang’s management agency said the actress, as the host for the evening footed the bills for the two of them.
“Chang does not want the issue to be prolonged further and asks everyone not to worry,” she wrote in Chinese.
The spokesperson added that Chang had taken note of the comments on her Facebook page and thanked them for their “kind intentions”.
However, the spokesperson added that the agency reserved the right to take legal action over any insults or threats made against Chang.
On Thursday, Mohd Nazifuddin, the son of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was spotted spending a day with Chang in Taipei, reported Taiwanese news portal Apple Daily.
In a follow-up report, the portal said that Chang had denied any romantic relationship with Mohd Nazifuddin.
The actress said that she took a cab home after their meeting and did not spend the night with him.
The meeting between the two took place a day after Najib was released on bail following his arrest on July 3 for his role in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.

Taiwanese actress denies receiving money, gifts from Najib’s son

TAIWANESE actress Celia Zhang admitted meeting with Mohd Nazifuddin Najib, the son of former prime minister Najib Razak, but denied receiving any money or gifts from him.
In a statement from her managing agency posted on Facebook today, Zhang said she had instead paid for their food and drinks during the meeting on Thursday in Taiwan.
“I did not take any money or gifts from him. Instead, I treated him to food and drinks as I was the host,”   said the post on Facebook written in Chinese.
The statement also denied that Zhang had spent the night with Nazifuddin, saying that she took a taxi home after dropping him off at the hotel at night.
The meeting sparked backlash among social media users, who hurled insults at Zhang after news of the meeting went viral, barely 24 hours after Najib posted bail after being charged with corruption on Wednesday.
The backlash reportedly surprised Zhang, who met with Nazifuddin on what seemed to be a date at a high-end steakhouse in Taipei. – THE MALAYSIAN INSIGHT
