REVENGE FOR CRITICIZING STAND ON ZAKIR NAIK? IN SHOCK TWIST, COPS GRILL PENANG DEPUTY CM RAMASAMY FOR ‘TERROR LINKS’ WHILE INDIA’S EXTREMIST FUGITIVE ZAKIR NAIK ENJOYS PUTRAJAYA’S PROTECTION

GEORGE TOWN – Police have recorded statements from Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy on his alleged involvement in Sri Lanka’s Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
Penang police chief Datuk Seri A. Thaiveegan said the statement was recorded two days ago in the state after several reports were lodged against Ramasamy.
“We have recorded his statement two days ago, he has given us his full cooperation,” Thaiveegan said after officiating the appreciation ceremony of the volunteer traffic school team at SJK Chinese Girl School near here yesterday.
Thaiveegan said in Penang alone, there are more than ten reports lodged against the two-term assemblyman.
The Prai assemblyman was criticised following the circulation of a picture of him allegedly paying his respects to a Kalashnikov rifle – which is a symbol of the armed terrorist group.
On Saturday, Ramasamy caused controversy when he uploaded a picture of himself posing with Tamil Nadu politician and vocal Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) supporter V. Gopalasamy, or Vaiko on his Facebook page. The picture was taken when Vaiko attended a wedding in Penang.

Ramasamy, however, has denied any links with the terrorist organisation.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said police have received 53 reports against Ramasamy.
The reports were lodged nationwide and Ramasamy himself had lodged a counter-report.
The case has been taken over by Bukit Aman’s Special Investigations Unit.
