EVEN CAR NUMBER PLATES NOT SPARED BY NAJIB & ROSMAH? ‘JUST PAY RM1 MILLION & THEY CAN GET MORE THAN RM10 MILLION’ – KEPONG MP REVEALS ‘PROPAGANDA UNIT’ UNDER NAJIB ‘GIVEN 3 SPECIAL SERIES NUMBERS’ – WANTS LIOW TIONG LAI & RTD TO COME CLEAN OR FACE POLICE REPORT

DAP’s Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng today questioned the Road and Transport Department’s (RTD) decision to grant three number plate series to Brandworth Corp.
It was previously reported that Brandworth Corp was a propaganda unit under the Prime Minister’s Department when Najib Abdul Razak led the country.
“This company has strong links with the former first family, Najib and Rosmah (Mansor). I want the former transport minister and also the RTD director-general to explain.
“Why is this company given special treatment? What is so special about this company that it deserves three special series numbers?” Lim told a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.
Under the arrangement, Lim said, the company only needed to pay RM1 million to RTD and it could then auction the whole series, which he claimed could fetch more than RM10 million.
“By paying just RM1 million to the government, you can make more than 10 times. This is easy money,” he said.
According to a list of car plate series granted by RTD furnished by Lim, Brandworth Corp received the series YA and YC from 1 to 9999. The approval was granted on Nov 28, 2017.
Another series, X 1 to 9999, was also approved on Jan 10 this year to Brandworth Corp.
The transport minister at the time was former MCA president Liow Tiong Lai (photo).
Lim said he would lodge a report with the MACC if Liow and RTD do not come clean on the matter.
In total, RTD had approved 39 series for various organisations and foundations to date.
Brandworth Corp was led by former Media Prima Berhad group chief executive officer Ahmad Farid Ridzuan, who was seconded as the prime minister’s communications adviser when Najib was prime minister.
According to a Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) search, the entity also has Azlan Rudy Malik as a director. Azlan was the chief operations officer of the 1Malaysia for Youth (1M4U).
Farisha Pawan Teh, the former chief operating officer of Primeworks Studios Sdn Bhd, a Media Prima subsidiary, is also listed as a manager.
