IPOH: Perak Barisan Nasional chief Datuk Saarani Mohamad has confirmed that the five Umno assemblymen who were summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) have all met state DAP vice-chairman Dr Abdul Aziz Bari over an alleged plot to oust the Perak Mentri Besar.
Saarani, who is Kota Tampan assemblyman, said all five assemblymen had signed a statutory declaration that they had met Dr Abdul Aziz, who planned to get at least 30 assemblymen to support his plan to oust Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
Although he did not reveal the full content of the declarations, Saarani said the gist was nearly the same.
“In the declarations, all five stated that Dr Abdul Aziz had said that Ahmad Faizal was not performing.
“The five assemblymen then asked him about his motive, and Abdul Aziz said he plans to present the support votes to the Perak Sultan and several influential figures in Putrajaya,” he added.
