A former member of the Gerakan central committee, Loo Yeng Peng, today announced he has joined Amanah.
Loo, who was the MP for Puchong from 2004 to 2008, said he joined Amanah after having considered the party’s attributes such as its mission, objectives and direction.
“I saw that this country had to undergo a change and I was happy when Pakatan Harapan took over the administration of the country.
"I also urge all non-Muslims and non-Malays to look at Amanah and the way forward in the sense of their objectives and aims under the constitution," he said after a meeting with Amanah president Mohamad Sabu on the sidelines of the ongoing Amanah National Convention 2018 in Ipoh.
On Dec 2, former Gerakan vice-president Liew Yun Fah joined Amanah in Tawau, Sabah, bringing along with him over 1,000 Gerakan members from the Tawau and Kalabakan parliamentary constituencies.
