India's Indigo Airlines may introduce new routes into KLIA

Passenger traffic between Malaysia and India is expected to increase following the possible introduction of additional new routes into the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) by IndiGo Airlines, India’s largest airline network.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) Airline Marketing General Manager Mohamed Sallauddin Mat Sah said the airport operator is in the midst of discussions with IndiGo.
"The airline is planning to start increasing (flight) frequency early next year with new routes. But, we have to wait and see what the routes are.
"I can say they are very keen to operate those additional routes into Malaysia," he told reporters after welcoming Citilink Indonesia's inaugural flight to KLIA today.
Currently, IndiGo provides daily flights connecting Kuala Lumpur with New Delhi and Bengaluru.
Mohamed Sallauddin said IndiGo has a huge opportunity for traffic rights in the Indian market, as all Malaysian airlines, including Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia and Malindo, had fully exhausted theirs.
