Nurul Izzah named Penang’s PKR chief

Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar replaces Mansor Othman.
PETALING JAYA: PKR today announced Nurul Izzah Anwar as the Penang PKR chief, replacing Mansor Othman.
The party’s communications director, Fahmi Fadzil said the Permatang Pauh MP’s appointment was made following discussions with PKR president Anwar Ibrahim and the division chiefs in the state.
“The appointments for other posts will be announced later,” he said in a statement.
In August FMT reported that speculation was rife that the PKR vice-president would take control of the party in Penang, as members sought Mansor’s ouster.
It was understood that members were unhappy with Mansor’s failure to “defend” the party’s interests with the DAP-led Penang government, especially in appointing PKR leaders to government positions following Pakatan Harapan’s victory.
Apart from Nurul, PKR has announced 13 state chiefs.
They are Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak (Perak); Aminuddin Harun (Negeri Sembilan); Johari Abdul (Kedah); Christina Liew Chin Jin (Sabah); Zahir Hassan (Kuala Lumpur); Halim Bachik (Melaka), Hassan Abdul Karim (Johor); Azan Ismail (Terengganu); Amran Kamarudin (Perlis); Amirudin Shari (Selangor); Mohamad Supardi Md Noor (Kelantan); Baru Bian (Sarawak) and Fuziah Salleh (Pahang). -FMT
