Nurul's resignation – Dr M in the dark, Azmin to seek answers

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is clueless as to what could have motivated Nurul Izzah Anwar to quit as PKR vice-president.
“What? Oh, from vice-president? Not from PKR?” he said when asked about the resignation.
“I don't know, she must have her reasons. I don't know anything about what is happening to PKR,” Mahathir added at the sidelines of an event in Cyberjaya this afternoon.
Meanwhile, PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, who was speaking to reporters at the same venue, is hoping to get an answer from Nurul.
“I just learned about it this morning,” Azmin said when asked about the resignation.
“I will try to talk to her and understand what really happened. I got nothing else to comment,” he added.
Apart from resigning as PKR vice-president, Nurul also stated she would no longer serve the government in any capacity.
Nurul, who is the daughter of PKR president Anwar Ibrahim and Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, was heading the special Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) task force.
In a media statement earlier, Nurul said she would remain as the Permatang Pauh MP but would relinquish her post as Penang PKR chairperson.
“My only regret is that I should have made this announcement sooner, but it has not been an easy decision to arrive at. The pace of political developments has been relentless for the last nine months, with party elections following a gruelling general election campaign.
“Now that I have had the chance to take stock of where I stand in relation to politics, I am resolved to doing the right thing,” she added. -Mkini
