Refrain from commenting on my behalf, Nurul Izzah tells Bersatu leader

PETALING JAYA: PKR’s Nurul Izzah Anwar has rubbished suggestion that she would retract her resignation as vice-president of the party.
“Kindly refrain from ever commenting on my behalf. @raishussin,” she tweeted in response to an article quoting Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chief strategist Datuk Dr Rais Hussin saying that Nurul Izzah will retract her resignation and return stronger.
Dr Rais had earlier tweeted that Nurul Izzah is committed to holistic reforms and as strong as she is, sometimes there are ups and downs.
“To make it happen, she must retract her resignation. I believe she will, and come back stronger and refreshed. For now, let us give her some latitude,” he wrote.
"It is my view, not commenting on behalf. I hope she will, InshaAllah, come back stronger to take up the holistic reforms that she is committed to," he said.
Nurul Izzah resigned as vice-president of PKR and relinquished her appointment as the chair of Penang PKR earlier Monday (Dec 17).
The Permatang Pauh MP said that she would remain a member of the parliamentary backbench committed to reforms.
“My only regret is that I should have made this announcement sooner, but it has not been an easy decision to arrive at.
“The pace of political developments has been relentless for the last nine months, with party elections following a gruelling general election campaign,” she said in a statement.  -
