PETALING JAYA: The Sultan of Selangor has conveyed his condolences to the family of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim.
In a letter to Muhammad Adib's father, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah said he and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin were saddened to hear about Adib's passing.
"We want to express our sympathy and condolences to the family members, and hope that they will be strong in facing this challenge."
"His departure is felt by all the people, and we believe that the sacrifice of our hero is noble in the side of religion, race and nation," he said.
On Sunday (Dec 16), IJN said that Muhammad Adib’s condition was critical after suffering progressive deterioration of his lung and kidney function over the past 24 hours.
He had suffered from fractured ribs and internal injuries, and was earlier treated at the Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) before being transferred to the IJN.
His remains will be brought back to his hometown in Kampung Tebengau, Kedah, after final rites and prayers are conducted at IJN on Monday night.
His burial is expected to take place after Zohor prayers on Tuesday (Dec 18).- Star
