JOHOR BARU: Police have detained a Myanmar man for peeping and taking pictures of a co-worker while she was relieving herself at the toilet in a factory located in Taman Perindustrian Berjaya, Kempas, here.
Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Taib Ahmad said that the 20-year-old suspect, a factory worker, was detained after the victim filed a police report at noon on Wednesday (July 24).
"The victim, who works as a clerk there, noticed someone trying to take her picture from the adjacent booth. She then reported the incident to the head of the department," he said in a statement here on Thursday (July 25).
"The victim took the phone away from the suspect and found pictures of herself on the toilet," he added.
ACP Mohd Taib said that the case is being investigated under Section 509 and Section 292 of the Penal Code for gestures intended to insult the modesty of a person.
The suspect is currently being held before a remand application for further investigation.- Star
