KUALA LUMPUR: Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak and Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz have been freed on police bail following their detention in connection with the sex video implicating Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.
The duo were among three men released at about 4pm on Tuesday (July 23) at the Dang Wangi police district headquarters accompanied by their supporters and lawyers.
When met outside the police station, Farhash claimed he was perplexed that the police treated him like a common criminal.
"If they really wanted to see me, they only have to call.
Asked on his future plans, Farhash said he has a lot to catch up on in terms of the political happenings and developments in the party.
"I want to have a proper rest.
"I still don't know why the police arrested me," he said.
Haziq, who exited the police station in a Proton Persona, only said he was all right and that he did not know what his next plans were.
Haziq's lawyer Ramesh Sivakumar said his client was not required to present himself to the police anymore.
"We have to wait whether he is charged or not.
"We will also wait for further developments in the investigation but I was told it is nearly completed," he said.
Earlier, Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed said the trio would be released on police bail.
He added that the remand for a businessman, who was arrested in Shah Alam on Friday (July 19), will be ending on Wednesday (July 24).- Star
