The MACC has completed its probe into Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Salahuddin Ayub's political aide over the possession of a luxury watch, said Latheefa Koya.
Speaking to Malaysiakini, the MACC chief commissioner said the agency had submitted its investigation paper to the Attorney-General's Chambers earlier this month.
"With regard to the investigation involving the political secretary of the agriculture minister over a luxury watch, the MACC has completed its investigation and sent the papers for further action to the AGC on July 10, 2019 and is awaiting feedback," Latheefa said in a text message.
She was answering a query regarding de facto law minister Liew Vui Keong yesterday, who claimed that MACC had cleared Salahuddin's political secretary Ahmad Sabki Yusof of wrongdoing.
In the letter to the Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Centre (GIACC) chief Abu Kassim Mohamed, Sabki had complained that the ministry's integrity unit was unfair to him after he submitted a declaration on July 25, 2018, about receiving the watch as a present.
Latheefa, however, declined to comment further when asked to confirm which version was true.
"We can’t comment further, we have completed the investigation and sent the papers," she said. - Mkini
