Wong's appointment to Seda 'does not violate'’ polls manifesto

The appointment of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) deputy chairperson Wong Kah Woh (photo, above) as the head of the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (Seda) does not violate the manifesto of Pakatan Harapan.
This is according to DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang when met at the economic symposium held at the Parliament building today.
"We follow the manifesto," Lim said when pressed on whether he agreed with the appointment of Wong to Seda.
He urged the media to check the content of Harapan's election manifesto.
"We keep to the manifesto, just check the manifesto," he said when leaving the event.
In its manifesto, Harapan pledged that it will ensure the appointment of members of boards of federal and state government-linked companies (GLCs) will be made based on merit and professionalism, not based on politics.
The election manifesto is silent on the appointment of politicians to government institutions.
PKR president Anwar Ibrahim also dismissed criticism raised on Wong's appointment.
"Seda is not a government-linked company. It's a statutory body. It is not a business entity as such," Anwar told a press conference after attending the symposium.
