MELAKA: The Melaka Legislative Assembly proceedings ended with the exchange of barbs on Thursday (July 18).
Words like "bodoh" (stupid) and "banggang" (idotic) were traded between Opposition leader Datuk Seri Idris Haron (BN-Sungai Udang) and Norhizam Hassan Baktee (DAP-Pengkalan Batu) which dragged on for a bit.
It was sparked when Tey Kok Kiew (DAP-Bandar Hilir) questioned the rationale for Idris to use the tagline #MelakaKotorBoss.
Tey, in his winding-up speech, said many of the postings by Idris in his Facebook page gave the impression that Melaka was dirty under the Pakatan Harapan-led state government.
Tey, who is the State Housing, Local Government and Environment Committee chairman, told Idris not to only comment on Facebook, but to lodge official complaints.
To this, Idris replied that he had raised the matter with the relevant authorities but no action were taken.
Datuk Amirudin Yusof (BN-Ayer Limau) and Datuk Sulaiman Md. Ali (BN-Lendu) came to Idris's defence, and this triggered the fierce spat. - Star
