OF AN OLD GUARD AND POWER-CRAZE: MAHATHIR & ANWAR UNDER ATTACK AFTER ZAHID’S COMEBACK

AT LEAST there are two statements made by Tun Mahathir and Anwar Ibrahim on Umno and its president Zahid Hamidi, with the latter describing Zahid’s comeback to office as a sign of rickety in the Malay party.
Aaahhh… can’t they find other matters to comment rather than showing ‘interest’ in their former party?
Anwar, for instance, shows much attention to Zahid’s return to office when he actually didn’t know much about the movements and happenings in Umno anymore. That he got nothing else to comment except to echo what Dr M had said.
Dr M, on the other hand said the cooperation between Umno and Pas came with the intention of reinstating Najib Tun Razak as the prime minister, seems to agree with his DAP partner that the collaboration is ‘dangerous to national stability’.
Anwar may have forgotten what he did as the finance minister during the economic downturn in 1997. He tried to sell to country to the IMF and World Bank but lucky enough it was rejected by Dr M when he was the fourth premier. Dr M was smart then but he is being outsmarted by the DAP presently.
The former deputy prime minister also has forgotten what Dr M did to him when he was sacked from Umno and the Cabinet, that he was sent years behind bars. I dunno if that bitter episode has gone behind his head due to the promises made by his boss that he will replace him as the eight prime minister.
Umno is more stable than Anwar’s PKR now. Having serious issues in the party, Anwar needs a long tread to mend the tears caused by some of his nemesis in his deputy’s camp, now marred with accusation of sex scandal.
Anwar should give proper attention to PKR domestic problems and avoid making statement about others. After all, his fate as the future PM still lingers on.
Dr M too is showing interest in Umno, the party that shot him to the pinnacle of politics and the one that made his clans entered the Rich and Famous book. Not to mention his family, his involvement in Bank Negara Forex scandal during the 90s is being ‘shut’ by the AG Chamber.
He is safe, for now. And that prompted him to label red Umno and Pas cooperation, petrified by the thought that if Najib becomes PM again, he and his gang will be subjects to the police and MACC interrogation. His government is believed to be covering up some other cases too, including the death of fireman Adib.
Or could it be a diversion for both leaders to avoid rebellions in their respective parties? Could be yes, could be not but as far as Umno is concerned, the infighting in PKR, Bersatu or in PH government is of no interest to them.
Zahid presides Umno now, and you are not anywhere close to the party. Manage yours, don’t spook Umno members with your statements of ridicule. For one thing, Umno is marching on and its cooperation with Pas is something you have to take on in the next general election.
