RM500 A MONTH FOR SEX & ‘OTHER ACTIVITIES INCLUDING HOLDING HER BREASTS’: ‘SUGAR DADDY’ LECTURER IN HOT SOUP FOR SEXUALLY HARASSING STUDENT

A lecturer at a tertiary institution is being investigated after being accused of sexual harassment by a teenage female student.
Local police confirmed that they received a report on the incident and subsequently arrested the lecturer on June 24. Although he was later released, the investigation is continuing.
“Investigation papers have been opened, please allow us to investigate,” the district police chief, who declined to be named, told Malaysiakini.
“After we are done investigating, we will send the papers to the deputy public prosecutor. Let’s see what the DPP advises.”
Based on the report sighted by Malaysiakini, a 19-year-old student claimed that the lecturer had called her to his office about 9am on June 23, and locked the door behind her.
He then proposed an RM500 a month payment to be her “sugar daddy” – which meant sex and “other activities”, including holding her breasts.
The student claimed that the lecturer barred her from leaving the room despite her repeated requests.
She said that he finally allowed her out when she agreed to meet him the following day.
“He allowed me to leave the room and asked me to take a photograph with him. Suddenly, he held my shoulders and pulled me towards him, and tried to kiss me on my lips.
“I dodged him and pushed him away. I left the room immediately,” she said in the report.
The student was called to his office the next day, where she claimed he once again offered to pay her for sexual favours.
She said she lodged the police report on the same day because she felt harassed, and was worried that the lecturer would go on to harass other students.
“I hope the authorities will take appropriate action on the lecturer as he has traumatised me, especially as I continue to study at this college,” her report states.
Malaysiakini is withholding the name of the tertiary institution pending its comment.
