PUTRAJAYA: Sungai Rambai assemblyman Datuk Hasan Abd Rahman has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over alleged misappropriation of funds.
MACC chief commissioner Latheefa Koya, in a statement, said Hasan, who is the chairman of Sungai Rambai State Assembly Development and Coordination Committee (Japerun), was arrested along with clerk Khuzaimah Abdullah on Monday (July 8).
Both were then released on MACC bail and will be charged at the Ayer Keroh Sessions Court at 8.30am on Tuesday (July 9).
Latheefa said the case was related to a “strategic linkage” initiative under the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) programme in 2016.
Hasan, who is a Barisan Nasional assemblyman, was then a state executive councillor for Melaka.- Star
