File police report or apologise to BN, Harapan for slurs - Lip Eng tells Hadi

Incumbent Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng has challenged PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang to file a police report for his claims that BN accepts bribes and Pakatan Harapan harbours anti-monarchy communists.

"Abdul Hadi please file a police report or apologise. You should look in the mirror and see who is lying to Malay Muslims," said Lim in a statement today.

This came after Hadi recently said that PAS cannot "join BN because it is still murky… the confusion is that there are still bribe takers. And there are those who are greedy and wish to govern again”.

Lim (above, right) questioned the PAS president’s timing in making the allegations as he did not speak up when the Islamist party was part of former premier Muhyiddin Yassin’s administration and caretaker prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s government.

"Strangely, while conspiring with BN parties in Muhyiddin's cabinet and then Ismail Sabri's cabinet before Parliament was dissolved last Monday, why didn't Hadi dare to say that BN had bribery recipients?

"Therefore, I urge the police and MACC to take evidence from Hadi immediately because his party has been together with BN in government and it is very likely that Hadi has information about corruption offences involving BN ministers and BN parties,” he said.

The DAP lawmaker also took umbrage with Hadi’s claim that Harapan held "communist factions and there are those who reject the king".

"Hadi's claim was made without providing any basis and evidence.

"If it is true that there are communist factions and those who reject the king within Harapan, then I challenge Hadi to file a police report within 48 hours because this involves a very serious offence and a treacherous act of disobedience against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the country.

"If Hadi fails to file a police report, it means he lied in his speech and he should apologise to the Agong and the people," Lim added. - Mkini
