Pakatan Harapan chairperson Anwar Ibrahim joked that he is now “dizzy” with offers over whether to contest in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15).
The incumbent Port Dickson MP said he was “dizzy” thinking about the seat he would be contesting and that the leadership of certain states such as Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Perak have asked him to contest in any area in the state concerned.
"Negeri Sembilan is asking, Johor is asking, Perak is asking... Penang alone is not asking me to come back to contest," he told the media after the Harapan Women's GE15 Iltizam and Machinery Launch Ceremony in Shah Alam today.
Previously, Anwar, who is also PKR president, hinted at giving way to other candidates representing the party to compete for his current Port Dickson MP seat.
Among the names mentioned is Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun.
Last month, Anwar also hinted that he would not defend the Port Dickson parliamentary seat and might contest seats held by PKR and Harapan 'traitors', but he didn’t specify which one.
