PETALING JAYA: Phase four of the Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia (BKM) has been brought forward, with eligible recipients to receive up to RM900 starting Nov 15.
In a statement, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the handouts, involving RM2.1 billion, will be credited into the recipients’ bank accounts in stages from Nov 15 to 18.
“The decision to bring forward phase four of BKM from December to November is to assist recipients in facing the monsoon season, which is expected to start in mid-November,” he said.
He added that this last round of the handouts for the year will benefit 5.2 million recipients, including households and unmarried senior citizens or widowers.
The third phase of BKM was disbursed in September, involving an allocation of RM2.2 billion.
Ismail said the public could check their payment status from Tuesday onwards at https://bkm.hasil.gov.my. - FMT
