PETALING JAYA: Former communications and multimedia minister Annuar Musa will be taking legal action against three individuals for defamation over the approval of a tender for the new concessionaire operating and managing KL Tower.
“After deliberating with my lawyer, I have no choice but to take legal action against the three individuals,” Annuar said in a Facebook post.
“I’ll leave it to my lawyers to take the appropriate action in accordance with the law.”
Annuar said statements made by the three individuals and numerous others who did not disclose their real identity had damaged his image and reputation.
Last week, Annuar said he was not involved in the selection of the new concessionaire Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd to operate and manage the KL Tower.
The tower is owned by the government while its operations and maintenance had been granted to a wholly owned TM subsidiary, Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd (MKLSB), since 1996.
The matter is now being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and three witnesses have been called. Numerous documents from relevant parties will be examined. - FMT
