Covid-19 (Jan 11): 367 new cases, 9 deaths

 


COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 367 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 11,372, down 10.3 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (106)
Kuala Lumpur (63)
Malacca (39)
Sarawak (34)
Kedah (17)
Penang (16)
Johor (15)
Negeri Sembilan (12)
Sabah (12)
Kelantan (11)
Pahang (10)
Perak (10)
Putrajaya (10)
Terengganu (8)
Labuan (3)
Perlis (1)


Another nine deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which one was declared as "brought in dead".

Over the past week, an average of 6 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 4.4, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,901 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 48 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 169 deaths last month and 209 deaths in November.

There are 502 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 24 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (59) followed by Sabah (37) and Kuala Lumpur (13).  - Mkini
