COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 318 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 5,033,943.
Active cases currently stood at 10,377, down 9.1 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Sabah (16)
Johor (15)
Terengganu (13)
Kedah (12)
Negeri Sembilan (12)

Penang (11)

No deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday.
Over the past week, an average of 2.6 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 3.6, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,923 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There are 398 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 19 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Sabah (52), followed by Selangor (47) and Kedah (15).
Taking to Facebook, Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah yesterday shared findings of a study from the International Journal of Infectious Diseases that concluded a pre-Omicron natural infection and a recent immunity event from a booster vaccine shot can protect against future Omicron infections. - Mkini
