The Fire and Rescue Department via its Air Unit has continued with its mission to deliver 25 tonnes of food supply to six Orang Asli posts beginning yesterday.
Subang Central Region Base operations commander Wahyudi Mohd Sayuhti said the operation has been resumed after experiencing delays due to continuous heavy rain in the Orang Asli settlements since Friday.
"Yesterday's (Monday) operation began at 10am and involved two helicopters namely the Agusta A109E and Agusta Westland AW189.
"A total of 5.9 tonnes of food had been successfully delivered to Kampung Gawin and Kampung Gob in Pos Gob, Kampung Jader and Kampung Ladoi in Pos Simpor, as well as Kampung Sempadik in Pos Belatim,” he told reporters at the Gua Musang District Council multipurpose complex field today.
He said the delivery of the food supplies will continue as there is good weather.
"Regardless of the situation, we remain committed to carrying out the tasks entrusted to us in this kind of situation.
"This operation involves the cooperation of the department’s Gua Musang Air Unit, Civil Defence Force and Orang Asli Development Department," he added.
