MERSING: A convoy of high-powered motorcycles from Singapore were caught in a risky situation here when some of the motorcycles they were riding were almost swept away by the strong currents of flood waters.
Mersing OCPD Supt Abdul Razak Abdullah Sani said based on information received, the group decided to brave the flood waters on Jalan Nitar here and were heading towards Kuantan, Pahang.
“There were six high-powered motorcycles that were on their way to Kuantan, Pahang. However, a motorcycle broke down after riding through the flood.
“A group of army personnel from the Malaysian Armed Forces was patrolling the Kampung Jamari area when they saw the group and provided help.
“There were no police reports lodged over the incident, and no injuries were reported,” he said when contacted here on Wednesday (Jan 25).
Earlier, a 27-seconds video went viral on social media showing a group of men being pushed by strong currents together with their motorcycles.
