The Kelantan government recorded a success rate of more than 90 percent in terms of fulfilling the manifesto of the 14th general election (GE14), claimed Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob.
According to him, the PAS administration's manifesto included 14 promises that were realised through the Islamic co-development policy, which is the principle of the state government.
"The year 2023 is the last term for the 14th Kelantan state legislative assembly, which has witnessed its own challenges, especially in the slowdown of the economic sector.
"However, the Kelantan state government remains stable in managing the state and the welfare of the people, thanks to the integrity of PAS' principles of struggle and the support of the people.
"At the end of this term, we also witnessed the realisation of the GE14 manifesto at an excellent level of over 90 percent across all 14 points," Ahmad (above) said when delivering his 2023 New Year's address in Kota Bharu today.
"Throughout 2022, we managed to maintain excellent state financial performance as well as an increase in revenue collection to reach a level of 99.10 per cent, an increase of RM209.22 million to RM908.70 million," he added.
However, it should be noted that according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia's 2021 figures, Kelantan had a GDP per capita of RM15,584, the lowest of all Malaysian states and territories.
Ahmad, who is also Pasir Pekan state legislative assemblyperson, said with the announcement, he hopes that policies that have been formed and initiated can be fully implemented.
He added that in order to face the challenges of 2023, the state government has maintained the theme of 'Kelantan is advanced, the people are prosperous' which is supported through four approaches which are rabbinic leadership, integrity leadership, humanitarian leadership and performance leadership.
"Kelantan as a state government is determined to continue to strive to improve the administration and the development of Islam as a whole.
Ahmad said it was everyone's duty to defend the existing government for the sake of the continuation of the policy.
"The state government always practices a mature and prosperous political culture in matters between the state government and the federal government in line with the concept of federalism.
"I hope the government today will maintain this relationship for the benefit of the people," he explained. - Mkini
