Yet another group of daredevils has allegedly sneaked up to the top of the Merdeka 118 skyscraper.
This time, it's YouTube content creators Driftershoots, who uploaded a video of the supposed climb on Dec 30.
The 7min, 18-sec video shows the group, comprising at least three climbers - two of whom had their faces pixelated - sneaking into the site wearing vests like construction workers.
They are then seen cutting through a tarpaulin used to cover the access route to the top of the tower, before climbing to the top.
The video culminates in them "celebrating" the successful climb in their hotel room.
In the description of the video, the group said that the journey was "long and difficult and full of challenges".
"A number of attempts had already ended in prison time for certain individuals so we knew we were up against heavy odds.
"The trip ended successfully and it's a gift to be ending the year showing the footage," the group said, adding that the video was merely an "artistic expression of freedom done in and for love", and not to encourage anyone to recreate the actions shown in the video.
This comes after Russian daredevil couple Angela Nikolau and her partner Ivan Beerkus made headlines for scaling the tower, which is the second tallest building in the world, last month.
Nikolau had even taken to Twitter to describe how she had impersonated a hijab-wearing construction worker to gain access into the building, before making her way up when the workers had left for the day. How Beerkus made it to the top was not mentioned.
The police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) are verifying the authenticity of the couple's video. - Mkini
