Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) president Larry Sng has questioned the legitimacy of several state party committees’ dissolution which were reported recently.
Sng said he has yet to receive any formal dissolution or resignation notice from those committees.
"It has also come to my attention that there is a lack of documentation to substantiate the news (of the dissolutions). It is not up to the state and divisions to dissolve.
"Dissolution is the prerogative of the headquarters," he told Malaysiakini when contacted.
Sng was responding to recent reports about the disbanding and dissolution of PBM's Pahang, Selayang, and Negeri Sembilan divisions and wings, reportedly due to a loss of faith in Sng's leadership.
Last week, the party head said that PBM is undergoing restructuring and as part of the process new divisions are being created, while Registrar of Societies registrations for some divisions had lapsed.
"Any dissolution of divisions can only be done by the PBM headquarters after consulting with the relevant authorities.
"As far as the party is concerned, those divisions that have been registered will remain as it is till the end of the year," Sng said in a statement last Friday. - Mkini
