Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Abdul Karim has penned more poems that appear to mock attempts to silence criticisms on issues, which could jeopardise the stability of the current government led by two former political rivals from PKR and Umno.
Titled “For this Rule”, Hassan's (above) poem today contained lines that referred to Umno supreme council member Ahmad Shabery Cheek's response to his initial statement, where he sympathised with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's dilemma in dealing with his deputy, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s corruption cases.
"In the name of stability; Don't rock this boat; Do not, do not; Else, all will sink," reads the first stanza.
Previously, Shabery had warned against a "government killing virus" of open criticisms among leaders, which he said ended Pakatan Harapan's first tenure in Putrajaya after just 22 months in power.
The Umno leader also described the current government as sitting on a Bailey Bridge, which could collapse under the strain.
"Do remember; Your bridge; It is not a concrete bridge; Remember that," Hassan’s poem continues.
Throughout the poem, the PKR veteran takes on a sarcastic tone and offered advice that the best thing to do in the name of stability would be to remain silent, accepting the fact that Harapan and BN are now in partnership despite past scandals. - Mkini
