The United Nations special rapporteur on human rights defenders, Andrea Bolaños Vargas, called for the immediate release of Mandiri executive director Amir Hariri Abdul Hadi and finance director Dobby Chew.
In a statement today, she also urged authorities to lift travel restrictions against the duo and unfreeze their funds.
“I urge the authorities to halt measures that misuse anti-money laundering or anti-terrorism laws to harass or unduly restrict human rights defenders and their legitimate work,” she said. - Mkini
