Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermieyati Samsudin today announced her resignation as the Masjid Tanah Bersatu division chief.
Mas Ermieyati (above) confirmed her exit when contacted by Malaysiakini.
Her move was subsequently followed by the entire senior leadership of the division, including Roslan Joned (division deputy chief), Norihan Bahari (division Women’s chief), Majidul Ikhwan Jidin (division Youth chief), Shahrul Azhar Amir (division secretary), Isa Jani (division information chief), and Dr Nordina Abd Latif (division treasurer).
Beyond the senior leadership, 11 more division committee members and the wing secretaries also tendered their resignations.
Ten branch chiefs under the Masjid Tanah division also resigned.
The division's committee members, wing chiefs, and branch chiefs made the drastic decision during a special meeting today.
Taking to Facebook, Shahrul said the move was taken following the erosion of grassroots confidence towards the leadership of party president Muhyiddin Yassin.
