Several current and former Bersatu supreme council members have claimed that viral screenshots of messages showing party vice-president Ahmad Faizal Azumu, popularly known as Peja, allegedly speaking ill of PAS were true.
This came after the former Perak menteri besar denied ever writing such a message, and instead blamed it on former Bersatu members who allegedly wanted to sow discord between the Perikatan Nasional component parties.
Ronald Kiandee, who is also a Bersatu vice-president, said he could vouch that Faizal had sent the messages to the WhatsApp group for party supreme council members.
“Do not believe Peja (above). It did happen.
“He was just trying to do damage control (with his denial),” he told Malaysiakini.

Sacked supreme council member Zulkifli Bujang also gave a similar response when contacted.
The former Johor Bahru division chief said he was still in the WhatsApp group when the conversation on the party’s relationship with PAS was discussed on Dec 30.
“I can confirm that the conversation did take place,” said Zulkifli, who was among the 17 Bersatu members terminated from the party on Feb 13.
Earlier today, another former Bersatu leader, Yunus Nurdin, also confirmed the same to Free Malaysia Today.

Malaysiakini has reached out to Faizal for comments.
According to viral screenshots of the purported WhatsApp conversation, Faizal suggested Bersatu quit PN after a component party acted insolently against Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin.
He later allegedly stated that Muhyiddin should not resign as PN chairperson, but PAS should be the one to quit the coalition and join “UMDAP”, referring to Umno and DAP. - Mkini
