THE mother of the late soldier, K Indiran, has urged the public to stop speculating about his death, stressing that false claims of bullying could damage the reputation of the armed forces.
S Usha, 52, said her eldest son, one of four siblings, was neither bullied nor abused, and the postmortem results showed no physical injuries.
“When I received the shocking news that my son was in critical condition, I feared the worst. But the postmortem confirmed he had not been bullied, beaten, or harmed.
“His physical condition was perfectly normal. So don’t tarnish the armed forces with false bullying claims. We’ll have to wait for the investigation,” she told reporters at her home in Taman Sri Nibong.
Usha said further internal investigations, including tests to pinpoint Indiran’s cause of death, are underway and expected to take three to four months.
For her, military training is tough but normal, not bullying, and she asked Malaysians to wait for the official investigation before drawing conclusions.
Police confirmed that Indiran, 22, was found unconscious at Kem Batu 10 in Kuantan while attending an armour crew course.
He was rushed to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital but died the following day. Authorities classified the case as sudden death, with further tests underway to determine the exact cause, which may take several months.
The death shocked his family, who last spoke to him in good spirits during a video call. Social media posts alleging bullying quickly spread after news of his passing, prompting his mother to respond firmly.
The mother also emphasised that speculations about her son were unfounded and harmful.
