The alert was issued following daily maximum temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius for at least three consecutive days.

The capital city joins 14 other areas under the same warning.
They include the whole of Perlis; Sik, Pokok Sena, Kubang Pasu, Langkawi, Kuala Muda, Kulim and Bandar Baharu in Kedah; northeast and northern Penang; and Hulu Perak, Selama, Kinta and Kuala Kangsar in Perak.
The Level 1 alert was issued following daily maximum temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius for at least three consecutive days.
Meanwhile, Level 2 (heatwave) warnings have now been issued for three areas in Kedah — Pendang, Padang Terap and Baling — after daily temperatures of 37-40 degrees Celsius persisted for three consecutive days, up from just one area earlier this morning.
