The transport minister says the convoy, which cuts through the airport area, could cause passengers to miss their flights, and questions if organisers will compensate those affected.

Loke said airport areas are strategic zones where safety must always be maintained to ensure smooth and uninterrupted passenger travel.
“If any congestion were to occur causing passengers to miss their flights, would the organisers take responsibility and compensate them for their airfare?” he said in a Facebook post today.
He also questioned whether the organisers had obtained approval for the convoy.
“Any motorcycle convoy should also obtain approval from the relevant authorities,” he said.

As such, Loke said he has instructed the road transport department (JPJ) to work with traffic police to conduct roadblocks this afternoon and inspect all motorcycles entering the airport area without exception, including those of elected representatives taking part in the convoy.
Based on a poster shared by Loke, the convoy is scheduled to take place from 5pm and is organised by several assemblymen from PAS and Kelantan PAS Youth.
It is expected to depart from Kota Lama, pass through the airport and city centre, and end near the Kota Bharu Aeon Mall. - FMT
