The price of unsubsidised RON95 petrol will also be reduced by 25 sen, with these prices effective until April 22.

In a statement, the finance ministry said the price of RON97 would be fixed at RM5.10 per litre, down from the current RM5.35 per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of unsubsidised RON95 fuel will decrease from RM4.27 per litre to RM4.02.
The price of diesel in West Malaysia will be fixed at RM5.97 a litre, down from RM6.72 per litre.
Subsidised RON95 petrol under the BUDI95 programme will remain at RM1.99 per litre, while diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan stays at RM2.15 per litre.
Subsidised petrol under the subsidised petrol control system (SKPS) will remain at RM2.05 per litre, while subsidised diesel under the subsidised diesel control system (SKDS) will remain at RM2.15 per litre.
These prices are effective until April 22.
The ministry said the government remains committed to ensuring that members of the public do not fully bear the impact of rising global oil prices.
It also said Putrajaya decided to increase cash assistance for diesel users under two Budi Madani schemes to RM400 for April, up from RM300 in March and double the original amount under the schemes.
The additional RM100 will be disbursed on April 21.
“Overall, it is estimated that the government will spend RM7 billion in fuel subsidies a month based on current oil prices.
“The RON95 subsidy bill has risen from RM300 million a month before the Middle East conflict broke out to about RM4 billion a month.
“The diesel subsidy has meanwhile surged from RM400 million a month to around RM3 billion a month,” said the Treasury. - FMT
