Sunway appoints Wahid Omar as independent non-executive director

 He completed his five-year tenure as chairman of Bursa Malaysia on April 30 last year.

Abdul Wahid Omar, 62, is currently Cypark Resources Bhd and IOI Corporation Bhd independent non-executive chairman.

 Conglomerate Sunway Bhd has appointed Abdul Wahid Omar as its independent and non-executive director with immediate effect.

Sunway said Wahid, 62, is currently Cypark Resources Bhd and IOI Corporation Bhd independent non-executive chairman.

“He completed his five-year tenure as chairman of Bursa Malaysia Bhd on April 30, 2025,” Bernama reported the company as saying in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

At the closing bell, Sunway rose eight sen or 1.53% to RM5.30 on Bursa Malaysia. - FMT
